Dear OHS Families,

I hope you have had a wonderful summer and chance to enjoy some time as a family.  My family spent some time in Maine and hosting family from abroad.  It has been great to recharge and now the excitement of the new school year is upon all of us!

Building Updates

It has been a busy summer at Osborn Hill.  We have new flooring in the LLC (library) and connecting rooms. The student bathrooms in the main building were redone from floor to ceiling and will be finishing up this week.  Our adult bathrooms had a surprise paint job as well.

Beyond all the renovations, our school interior is looking amazing.  Our long-time head custodian, Bill Augustine, is leading a new team at OHS of Carlos Moreno and Qamil Kalici.  The details in their work this summer have been extraordinary and the school is more ready than ever to be the lively place it is throughout the year.  Big thanks to Bill for his leadership and to Bill, Carlos, and Qamil for all their hard work and dedication this summer.

Class Assignments

On Tuesday, 8/22, class assignments will be available for you to see in Infinite Campus.  Our teams work hard in the placement process, making the best decisions possible with all the information we have. I encourage you to be as positive about the placements as possible when speaking with your child(ren).  Your reaction can positively or negatively impact your child(ren)’s reaction.  Thank you for your consideration.

In Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade, we will have 4 sections of each.  In third, fourth, and fifth, we will have 3 sections of each.  We have some new teachers I am excited to introduce to you, but I am going to hold off until later on Monday or early Tuesday because of some last-minute adjustments that may be necessary.  Thank you for your patience!

Student Visits next Monday

On Monday, 8/28, we have our visits in the morning.  Here is the schedule:

That leads up to our big first day on 8/29!

Looking forward to seeing all of you in the coming weeks and catching up.  Enjoy the last days of summer vacation!

Chalk the Walk

Let's inspire our students with a colorful and positive entrance to school! We are looking for parent volunteers to help decorate the outdoor areas of OHS for the first day of school. Click here to sign up and join us on Monday, August 28th between 4pm-6pm.  We will have chalk available for you to use, or feel free to bring your own.
