Turkey Trot Food Drive ends Friday

Only 5 days left for the Turkey Trot Food Drive! Students can bring in non-perishable goods to be donated to Operation Hope. Last year, they were blown away by our support. Donations can be brought to your child’s classroom. The classroom with the most items by Friday will receive gift cards to 16 Handles!  So far 4FL is in the lead, with 2W close behind.

What to donate:

Turkey Trot is next Tuesday

The Thanksgiving Food Drive culminates with our Turkey Trot on Tuesday, November 21. The kids will take part in a fun run around the building during school hours and parents can root the kids on!

We're looking for parent volunteers to cheer on our turkey trotters and provide guidance on the course.

Please reference the course map so you can choose your volunteer locations:

  • Grades K-1 will do a shorter loop starting up by the playground in the back.
  • Grades 2-5 will be traveling around the building (starting in the back parking lot)

The start is staggered by grade and class with K-1 starting at 9:20.  Usually 2nd grade lines up by 9:35 and then 3-5 around 9:50.  Please note these times are not exact as once we get started the goal is to keep the classes rolling through continuously.

We are also looking for several volunteers to help us load and transport all the donations to Operation Hope next Monday, November 20 - the day before the Turkey Trot.

We'd love your help - click here to sign up!

Pumpkin Composting at OHS!

Getting ready to say farewell to your fall decor? Get another week or so out of those pumpkins and then join the Green Team to compost your pumpkins along with schools across FPS!

Osborn Hill School will have a dumpster available from November 20th through the 28th to toss your pumpkins and add to the pile - Fairfield schools composted more than SIX TONS last year! The Department of Public Works supports this effort and we’re pleased to join several other elementary schools for the first time this year.

Next PTA meeting in December

We are cancelling our November PTA meeting and will gather again next month. We hope you'll join us at our next meeting on Friday, December 15th at 9:30am in the APR.

FPS Toy Drive

The Maintenance and Custodial Division of Fairfield Public Schools is holding a Toy Drive to support various charities throughout the town and Connecticut.

You can donate the following new, unwrapped toys:

Dolls, Toy Cars/Trucks, Board Games, DVD's (G-PG), Books/Crayons, Diapers & Wipes, Gift Cards

Donations can be placed in a collection box located outside most Fairfield Public Schools Main Offices. If there is no box for our toy drive you can call (203) 650-2162 and arrangements will be made to pick up your donation.

The Toy Drive runs through December 18.

Attention Incoming Kindergarteners!

The office is compiling an email list of incoming kindergarten students for next fall. If you will have a kindergartener for the next school year, please either:

  • Email TBudlowski@fairfieldschools.org with your future KDG student’s name, date of birth, your address, your best contact phone number, and the preschool they attend
  • Call the school office at 203-255-8340 extension 1 so the registration procedures can be emailed to you in January.

Have news to share? Email Jen Braun by 10am Friday
to include in the following Monday's OHS Weekly Flash.
