Supporting the Bardos family

We are heartbroken over the loss of Gordon Bardos, father of two OHS 5th graders. As Mr. Hudspeth wrote to the fifth grade community - in times like these our community's strength lies in our collective support and empathy. Let us come together to surround the Bardos family with love and understanding.

If you'd like to offer support, a GoFundMe page has been established for the family: https://gofund.me/5334d9a7

Sweetheart Dance - Tickets on Sale

Tickets are on sale for the Sweetheart Dance on February 3. Every OHS student is invited to join the dance with one special adult (parent, caregiver, etc.). There will be a photobooth, craft area and games, hot chocolate bar and desserts, and of course, a DJ! In order to accommodate all students, the dance is divided into two sessions:

4:30pm-6:15pm for students in Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

7:15-9:00pm for 3rd - 5th Graders

**Please note - we cannot accommodate older students in the younger session, and vice-versa.

Tickets are for sale on our website

Couples and sibling tickets are now for sale. You can add on boutonnieres and corsages for an additional price. The deadline to buy tickets is January 29.

Need help figuring out which ticket combo to purchase?

  • Every child needs to be accompanied by an adult (no drop-offs, please), and every grown up needs a ticket.  But if one adult is attending both sessions (accompanying a younger child to the early dance and an older child to the later session), they do not need to buy a second adult ticket.  Just select one couple ticket and one sibling ticket.
  • Siblings at the same session can be accompanied by the same special adult - purchase one couple and one sibling ticket.
  • If two adults would like to accompany two siblings, purchase two couples tickets.
  • A great way for two parents to see their kids at the dance is for one adult to sign up to volunteer! We are in need of helpers to staff our food, craft and game stations and to assist with set up and clean up.  Click here to sign up to volunteer!

Update dismissal changes in School Dismissal Manager

The winter session of After School Activities begins this week.  Please be sure to update School Dismissal Manager with any exceptions to your child's default dismissal plan!

Composting at lunches begins Tuesday

OHS starts composting this week! The 5th grade CARES Team will be introducing composting to the school at back-to-back assemblies on Tuesday and then the whole school will put their learning into action at lunch. This includes separating their trash from compostable materials (including lunch trays), carton recycling and liquids.

The OHS Green Team would like to thank the CARES team and Mr. Hudspeth and Ms. Day for their support, with an extra special shout out to Mr. Bill and the custodial and lunch teams for making this all possible. Ask your kids about composting and reach out to Emily Bergantino with any questions for the Green Team.

Hockey game Saturday - 50/50 raffle benefits OHS 5th Grade

We're excited to see many of you at the Bridgeport Islanders hockey game on Saturday at 7pm.  Due to popular demand we've increased the number of tickets available - click here to purchase! Tickets are $28 and come with an Islanders hat, with a small percentage of the proceeds supporting the PTA. Tickets sales end at 5pm on January 20th.

50/50 Raffle

If you're going to the game, consider purchasing tickets to the arena-wide 50/50 raffle. Proceeds benefit our OHS 5th grade activities!

Venue notes

  • Parking is available in the outside lot (cards preferred) or in the garage (cash only).  The arena is cashless, so you'll need a credit or debit card for concessions.

Incoming Kindergartener Registration

Registration has started for children to attend Osborn Hill School this fall. If you have an incoming kindergartener and did not receive an email from Mrs. Budlowski this past week regarding the procedures for registration, please email her at TBudlowski@fairfieldschools.org with your future KDG student’s name, date of birth and the preschool they attend so the registration procedures can be emailed to you.

BSA Starting New Girls Troop

Troop 199 is very enthusiastic about growing our Scout troop as well as starting a sister troop, Troop 1199. We would like to have 5 girls to make it official. We also need a few parent volunteers to get this up and running and guide these new Scouts.  If your son or daughter (age 10 by March 1) is interested in scouting, we hope you will come to our open house to see what we are all about. We make so many amazing memories building character, leadership skills and experiencing the great outdoors. Come join us February 6 at 7:30pm at Jennings School.

If you have any questions, email FairfieldTroop1199@gmail.com.
