Dear OHS Families,
I hope everyone had a terrific weekend, especially all of the OHS Moms!
Thank you to the PTA and the classroom parents for recognizing our wonderful teachers last week during Teacher Appreciation Week! Your gifts, food, and treats were greatly appreciated! The children loved the wall of teacher baby pictures! They were trying to guess which teachers matched the pictures all week. It was a lot of fun!
We also welcomed 70 new Otters to OHS for the first time last week! It was great meeting all of the new students and their parents at Kindergarten Visitation. We look forward to them arriving next year to be part of our wonderful school.
We continue a very busy spring at OHS! Here is a look at the week ahead:
Spring Assessments: SBA will primarily be grade 4 math and grade 5 science, with some make-up tests as well. Please continue to make sure students get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast each day so they are set up for success. In addition to the SBA state testing this week, we also continue our end-of-year assessments in grades K-2 to gauge our students' progress.
Tuesday evening is our K-5 Art Show from 5:30-7:00 PM in the OHS APR.
Thursday morning at 8:00 AM will be Run Club. We also have our Spring Concert for students on Thursday morning at 9:30 AM in the APR. The evening Spring Concert for parents will be on Thursday as well, at Fairfield Woods at 7:00 PM.
Friday morning is the rescheduled Bike Bus to OHS. Friday morning at 10:00 AM is also our OHS Walkathon.
Lots of fun activities! Enjoy the week!
Take care,
Sean F. Smyth, Principal
