Dear Osborn Hill Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I know for many of you it started out with a terrific Family Fun Night at OHS! There was a wonderful turn-out Friday night, and the weather luckily held out for us. Thank you to the Family Fun Night Committee Chairs for your hard work on the event: Lexi Cummings, Jessica Truchan, Lauren Wilke, April Perugini, and Debbie Greene. It was really a great night!

I cannot believe we are in our last full week of school! As usual this time of year, we have a lot going on this week!

  • The Fairfield Public Library will be in on Monday to talk to the children about the summer reading program. OHS had excellent participation last summer, and I hope we do this summer as well. Making consistent time for summer reading goes an incredibly long way in strengthening your child’s academic performance! There is plenty of time to do all the fun summer activities, and spend a little time each week relaxing and reading for enjoyment.

  • Tuesday night at 7:00 PM is the Superintendent Student Award ceremony at Fairfield Warde High School. OHS selected William Salvatore for this year’s Superintendent Award from among many highly qualified candidates. We look forward to recognizing William on Tuesday night!

  • Wednesday is the 5th Grade Beach Day at Jennings Beach from 9:15-2:15! Looks like good beach weather so far!

  • Wednesday afternoon is Kindergarten’s Year End Celebration of Learning from 2:30-3:30

  • Thursday, 3B and 3S go to the CT Audubon from 9:00-11:45.

  • Thursday morning at 9:15 is also our last PTA meeting of the year, where we thank the outgoing officers and welcome the new leadership team!

  • On Friday, our 5th grade students visit FWMS from 9:00-11:00

  • Also on Friday, 3G and 3R go to the CT Audubon

  • Finally on Friday, the Falcons Return to the Nest, where OHS Alumni who are graduating high school parade through OHS in celebration!

Looking forward to a wonderful week!

Take care,

Sean F. Smyth, Principal

PTA meeting Thursday morning, vote on next year's budget

Our last PTA meeting of the school year is a big one! Not only will we be voting on next year's PTA budget and swearing in board members, but the OHS staff is generously providing breakfast as a thank you. We hope to see you Thursday at 9:15am.

You can preview the proposed PTA budget for next school year by clicking here.

Nurse's office needs new backup clothes

The Nurse's Office could use some extra mesh basketball/lacrosse shorts - size M (8-10) or L (10-12); unisex or a mix of boys and girls). They don't have to be new as long as they are clean/ good condition for Nurse Jackie to have as spares when kids need them. We need about 15-20 pairs max.

Can you help? Email Melissa Miller with the sizes and quantity, then send them in with your kid with a note "Spare shorts for Nurse's Office." Thanks!

Chalk the Walk for Pride event at Mill Hill

Join families from Mill Hill, Burr, North Stratfield, and Dwight for a chalk the walk event celebrating Pride this Tuesday at 4pm at Mill Hill School. If you'd like to join, please email the OHS Culture Committee. Kids and adults welcome!

Last call - Committee Chair positions still available!

Last call! We are building our PTA Committees for the next school year and are still on the lookout for additional volunteers to head up and/or support the following committees:

  • First Day Activities - Chalk the Walk
  • First Day Activities - Teacher Luncheon
  • 5th Grade Committee
  • Harvest Faire
  • Harvest Faire Raffle
