UPDATE FROM THE 5TH GRADE COMMITTEE:

We are in the homestretch! We have lots planned for the last week of school. While the majority of these activities are paid for with our 5th grade fundraisers and PTA funds, we do need your help with RSVPs and some donations/borrowed items. We've put it all together for you in one note - please note the bolded what we need section for each event below.

Beach Day - Tuesday June 9 (rain date 6/10) 9:45am-2:15pm

This is a school-sponsored field trip, but we are helping collect snacks, drinks and games for the kids to enjoy. Parents are welcome to stop by!

Teacher and Staff Thank You Breakfast - Thursday June 11 at 8am

As a token of our appreciation for their support throughout our time at OHS, the fifth graders will host the staff and teachers of OHS and serve them breakfast on Thursday, June 11. Students will take orders, make plates, pour drinks, and clean tables at the "Otters Cafe" in the APR. Kids would need to be dropped off to OHS by 8am.

What we need:

2) We can use a few parent helpers during the event, as well as donations of juice, creamers, etc. Click here to help us out!

Moving Up Ceremony - Friday June 12 at 9:30am

The school sent tickets to families in the mail. Please contact the office for any questions regarding the ceremony and tickets. Fifth graders can be signed out of school following the ceremony - see your classroom teacher at the reception to sign out.

What we need: You can contribute to the flower decoration fund by sending $10 by Venmo to @ashley-maguire-4

Moving Up After Party at Urban Air - Friday June 12 1:30pm-4:30pm

5th graders can celebrate with their friends at Urban Air in Orange following the moving up ceremony. All costs for the event are covered by the 5th grade committee. Transportation is not provided - kids can be dropped off no earlier than 1:20 and picked up at 4:30. Parents are welcome to stay! Read all the details in the evite sent May 22.

What we need:

1) RSVP to the evite by June 5

2) Sign the waiver

5th Grade Families Bonfire - Monday June 15, 6pm at Jennings Beach (J6)

This is an event for the whole family to celebrate the kids' last night as fifth graders! Please note all kids MUST be accompanied by an adult - this is not a drop off event. Grab dinner before you come - we will have smores and light bites.

What we need:

1) RSVP to the evite by June 5

2) We need volunteers to manage the fire, and donations for smores, glowsticks, etc. Click here to sign up - items can be brought to the bonfire that evening.

Finally, one change to the 'important dates' sheet we sent last month - parents are not invited to watch the school kickball game on Monday June 15. I'm sure the kids will tell us all about it!
