Dear OHS Families,

I hope you are able to join our PTA meeting this Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm.

Grade 2-5 OHS STEAM Night this Wednesday

As a reminder, OHS STEAM Night is coming up this Wednesday, March 27th, from 6:30-8:00 pm for students in Grades 2-5 and their families. Please see the linked STEAM Night Flyer and Activity Description page for more information. These include links for the certain activities that require advanced sign up. Each student may be signed up for ONE sign-up activity for the night.

There will also be many walk-in activities that do not require prior reservations.

We ask that there be an adult in attendance with each student. It is fun to go through the activities together. We have many staff members helping make the event possible, along with some staff from the public library, and I want to thank everyone for giving of their time to make this possible.

St. Baldrick’s Thank You

Friday night’s Team Teddy St. Baldrick’s event was a special night of current and returned students and families supporting a wonderful cause. We had several staff members who volunteered to run games and activities as part of the event as well. Many thanks to everyone who provided baskets to raffle, baked goods to sell, and supported shavees. Congratulations to Jessica on another successful year.

Class Placement Letters- Due Date Approaching

As a reminder, we will again be accepting letters from families to provide information to our placement teams. Please see the linked letter for more information about the information we will accept. Please know letters containing information we do not accept will be returned. Please send letters in by April 5, 2024 to Terry Budlowski so we can organize the information over the break in preparation for our placement teams.

Remember, there is no school on Friday for Good Friday. To everyone celebrating Easter this weekend, wishing you a special time with family.

Have a great week,

David

Osborn Hill activates Wait Until 8th cohorts in every grade

Osborn Hill is the first school in Fairfield to activate cohorts for all grades in the Wait Until 8th campaign.  Wait Until 8th provides a community for those who pledge to hold off on purchasing a smart phone for your child until the end of 8th grade.  The pledge does not include basic calling and texting devices. This effort is not to judge anyone who purchases a smart phone for their kids, but rather to support those who want to wait. You can learn more about the campaign and grade cohorts at waituntil8th.org.

Have news to share? Email Jen Braun by 10am Friday
