Wait Until 8th pledge gains momentum in Fairfield!

Have you heard of the Wait Until 8th campaign? The movement aims to ease social pressure around having a phone at a young age and creates a community of parents who pledge not to purchase a smart phone for their kids until the end of 8th grade. The pledge does not apply to watches or flip phones for calling and texting. You can find out more about the program and sign the pledge HERE.

Extra Tips:

The pledge is easier/quicker to complete on a computer instead of a phone
If you have more than one child in different grades at the same school please select “add another student” on the form. Each child will have their own WU8th cohort.

WU8th Fairfield chapter is taking a specific approach. We are here to support families who have already made the choice to delay buying their kid(s) a smartphone until at least the end of 8th grade. We are building a community of support for those seeking it. We will have an in-person gathering in the future
We are not casting judgement on families who have decided to buy their kid(s) smartphones. We are not recruiting or persuading people who are uncertain. Each family must choose what works best for them.
